The Unchosen One

You were Chosen, but now you’ve been returned. The aliens who abducted you decided to bring you back to a field in your hometown, and you’re now alone, left to pick up the pieces. Also, you’re in a book club, which is how you got into this conundrum. 

You’re happy to be home, but a little wounded over being “unchosen.” You don’t know why the aliens rejected you, and you find yourself unexpectedly curious over what it was about you that forced their return.
